Holiday decorating has become somewhat of a sport. While people typically focused on the inside of their home, the outdoor landscape has become a Christmas canvas to further expose that holiday spirit!

The Norwood Recreation Department is again offering its Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest. This has become an incredibly popular and fun competition as Norwood neighborhoods flaunt their spirit for all to enjoy. With Covid restriction limiting group activities last year, it seemed that local residents pulled out all the stops on their decorating. This year should be an even bigger event building on that festive momentum! 

All registered houses will be listed on the Norwood Recreation social media pages with themes and an interactive map. And that makes for a second new family tradition! Put the family into the car and drive throughout Norwood to take in all the decorated homes and vote online for the winner!

There will be two winners announced a week before Christmas. One from the judges and one for most internet likes. Gift cards to local businesses will be provided to each winner. To register your home or for more information, contact the Recreation Department at 781-762-0466 or email [email protected]. Residents can nominate their home or their neighbor’s home. Town employees will contact nominations before placing them on the map.

Those who cannot visit the homes in person can also view on the map. 

So, who in Norwood is up for the challenge and boasting rights for the most festive home in Norwood!!??
