Age Well with HESSCO
The Morrill Memorial Library is partnering with Health & Social Services Consortium, Inc. (HESSCO) to share information on the organization and resources available. It will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 6:30 p.m., Morrill Memorial Library.
As we age, there is a new lifestyle to navigate, medical help to seek, and many other future considerations to account for. We are bound to have many questions about the resources available in the community that will help us age well in place. A representative from HESSCO will explain the long-term services HESSCO offers for older adults and adults with disabilities.
Free and open to all aged 18+.
Registration required. To register, visit www.norwoodlibrary.org/morrillcalendar/, or call the reference desk at 781-769-0200, x2.

Celebrating its 10th year, Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption campaign let by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. NBC, Telemundo, and more than 100 affiliated stations across the country partner with animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption and raise much needed funds. Since its inception, Clear the shelters has resulted in more than one million pet adoptions and raised millions of dollars to help these homeless animals.
This year, the 2024 Campaign runs from Aug. 10 to Sept. 10. For more information, visit cleartheshelters.com. Online donations to their cause can be given at www.clearthesheltersfund.org.
Clear the Shelters Locally!
While the Bay State Animal Cooperative no longer hosts a centralized shelter, their cats are filtered through generous volunteers who open their homes to love, feed, and shelter these pets until permanent homes can be found. There are many BSAC cats waiting, so let’s Clear the Foster Homes together Norwood!
To learn more about BSAC’s foster cats, visit www.baystateanimals.org. There are also cats not on the website coming up for adoption, so feel free to fill out an application or hit the contact button for more information.

Seniors for Seniors Program
The Seniors for Seniors Program through the Neponset Valley Humane Society (NVHS) is a unique program that matches senior cats with senior citizens. Many senior cats are overlooked for younger cats or kittens and have so much love to give.
If needed and resources allow, the NVHS can assist with food and medical care. Also, adoption fees are waived in the Seniors for Seniors Program.
If you are, or know of, a senior whose life would be brightened with a wonderful companion,
