Happy Third Annual Norwood Juneteenth Celebration!
On June 19, the country celebrates and commemorates the freedom of all enslaved people on June 19th, 1865, in Galveston, Texas when the Emancipation Proclamation was officially enforced.
On Saturday, June 15, SRO Baguma and the Norwood Juneteenth Committee held Norwood’s celebration to commemorate the ending of slavery in America while bringing people together for entertainment and conversation. Chief Padden was on hand to discuss the importance of this holiday. It was a great event for all who attended.
