Norwood Evening Garden Club Awards $1,000 Scholarship
Lois Walsh (L), president of the Norwood Evening Garden Club, presents Christopher Collins, of Hingham, the garden club’s annual scholarship for 2022. Each year, the Norwood Evening Garden Club awards a scholarship to a graduating senior of the Norfolk County Agricultural High School who has good scholastic achievement, outstanding citizenship, and who is pursuing a degree in horticulture, agriculture, floriculture, conservation, environmental science or horticulture in its widest aspect.
Mr. Collins will attend Delaware Valley University, in Doylestown, PA, where he will study Landscape Architecture in their unique regenerative design process. Collins is passionate about the outdoors and has always been interested in design. He hopes to open his own business upon graduation. This career path will teach him about green, sustainable and innovative strategies for creating inspiring outdoor spaces for his future clients.
The Norwood Evening Garden Club has been providing education and public beautification in Norwood and Walpole since 1996. Open to novice and expert gardeners, the Club is a member of The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., New England Region, and National Garden Clubs, Inc. and draws its members from the communities of Norwood, Walpole, Westwood, Dedham, Medfield and Randolph.
