Back to School!

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about sending those kids back to school! If you are new to Norwood, here is some valuable information regarding enrollment, transportation, etc. For those returning to the Norwood school system, it is always helpful to review for any changes.
While it may seem a little early as there is still a lot of summer to enjoy Labor Day runs late this year (Sept. 6), and family vacations may stretch into September.
For parents just moving into the community or those that have lost track of time, be sure to register your child. To access the elementary school district map, visit www.norwood.k12.ma.us/about/student-registration. Bus registration is also currently open. Transportation guidelines and pricing are available within the paper.
The first day of school for Grades 1-12 is currently scheduled on Wednesday, September 8; pre-k and kindergarten, on Friday, September 10.
At press time, specific guidelines on mask mandates were not yet determined, but some helpful information on children and masks has been included. Lunch menus and applications were not yet available as well but stay alert through the Norwood Schools site at www.norwood.k12.ma.us throughout August.
While this year’s return to the classroom will possibly involve a learning curve for school administration, teachers, parents, and children, staying updated through the Norwood Schools website will be a valuable resource. Information will be updated regularly through this site and parents are encouraged to stay informed to make the process for all as seamless as possible.
