Summer Event Season Is Here: Get Your Permits in Early

As Norwood gears up for another busy summer season, residents planning community events are encouraged to start the permitting process early. Whether organizing a neighborhood block party, hosting a charity road race, planning a festival, or gathering at one of Norwood’s beautiful town-owned parks, advance planning is key to securing the desired space and making events run smoothly.
Town officials are reminding residents and organizations that summer calendars fill quickly, and event requests requiring approval from the Norwood Board of Selectmen should be submitted as soon as possible to avoid scheduling conflicts and delays.
The proposed upcoming meeting dates for event approvals are:
• Tuesday, May 19, 2026
• Tuesday, June 9, 2026
• Tuesday, June 23, 2026
• Tuesday, July 14, 2026
• Tuesday, August 11, 2026
Applicants should note that all requests and permit applications must be submitted at least one week prior to a scheduled meeting in order to be placed on the agenda. Meeting dates may also be subject to change.
Town officials encourage residents not to wait until the last minute, especially during the busy summer months when parks, streets, and public spaces are in high demand for community events and celebrations.
